I picked up a HMMWV Mile Marker hydraulic winch off a HMMWV carcass today. I don't see where anyone has done this before, but I plan to try to graft it onto the front of my M1008. I'd like to tuck it away behind the bumper and slot the bumper for the rope and fairlead. I did get the hydraulic hoses with it as well. It was plumbed in post brake booster and pre-steering box. It'd be wonderful if those fittings are the same... I believe it's pretty simple in wiring nature. Just two leads to it. I assume one direction in polarity is the direction of the motor. Reversing would likewise reverse the winch direction. I also got the mounting plate from it as well. I plan to modify that into the actual mount.

Is the winch off of a 998 or one of the larger REV trucks? It makes a difference. I just fought this with my front winch.

You'll need three wires actually. One power to the connector to activate the directional solenoids.

The plumbing is pretty straight forward. I have a physical copy of the installation manual if it's the 998 version and I'll be glad to send it to you if you want/need it.

I also have the a lot of hardware, hoses and brackets and some hardware for the installation as I didnr tneed them with my installation, again, I'll pay it forward if you cover shipping. Feel free to PM me and ask any questions you may have.

I think it's off one of the older non ECV chassis. I didn't even look at the data plate to be honest. I didn't take too much notice of the packard plugs, I know I saw two of them, could very well have been three. (It was unplugged when I removed it anyhow) I don't know how useful the HMMWV brackets will be in my use, but if you have NOS hoses, I certainly would like them.

Looks like someone is already making brackets to do what I want to do. I will measure it to see how it might fit in place of say a electric winch.

The third plug goes to the circuit breaker. PM me your address and I'll get the manual in the mail to you. It'll help you do everything you need. If you end up needing hoses, let me know.
