Hood letters

I am in the process of repainting the deuce and have reached a roadblock sort of. I am having a hard time finding out what style the letter are for the U.S. ARMY and the hood number. I am pretty sure they are 3 inch. or might even be 4 I can't remember now. Please help me out I am running ragged now. I am thinking about getting a sign place to make me a set of vinyl letter for the hood. You guys think that is a good idea or are there any horror stories about them? thanks for any and all info.

3 inch is the standard - and ditto on Rick's stencils. Many local sign places use the wrong typeface. There's looks OK, until you compare them to TMs or other "right" fonts.
