hooking up the batteries on a 12v m1008 the same as the stock set up

i am ready to put power to it. cables are off. truck is now 12v with the one passenger side alternator.

do the cables hook up the same way. im not sure. never had one that had this done already.

NO!!

The stock setup has the batteries wired in a series which increase the voltage to 24v.
If you want two batteries, you can wire them parallel: + to + and - to -

If you don't have 100% confidence in what your doing stick with 1 battery....

The easiest way would be to have new cables made that run from each individual battery to the big junction blocks on the firewall. That way, there's no confusion. Positive on top, negative on bottom.
