I recently bought my first m35a2. the previous owner mounted 6 47 inch xml michelins on stock rims. on the rear wheels he installed the screw on studs on the hubs then the wheels then the lugnuts. it dosent seem safe since the wheels aren't even touching the hub face. what is the correct and safest way to mount stock single wheels on rear axles. also is load capacity reduced by only having four rear wheels versus 8. thank you in advance for any advise.

for stock single wheels, put on the wheel then use FRONT lug nuts, the way it is now, the rims will flex and crack, check and make sure the front are not out from the hub like the rears

sorry, read this as non-stock rims on now, so i fixed things

Lots of mis-information. If they are stock rims, take the nut off, then the wheel, and finally the budd nut. Put the rim back on and then use a budd nut or switch to front lug nuts. No, the capacity is not reduced, as the tires are rated at 9,000lbs each.

I've heard that if you use the budd nuts on singles that you should put the rear lug nuts on them as well. Seems that they are not strong enough by them selves?

Dunno if I believe that. I have been running budd nuts for a while, no issues yet.
