the bezel is crimped on over the lens. You can work your way around with a small tool. It won't look as smooth when finished, but the back edge will be hard to see when installed. Practice with the bad gauge since you cant see it anyways.

Just get a new gauge, they are not THAT expensive, you will probably always have moisture issues with your rebuilt gauge, remember when it rains things get wet.

Sand it with 3,000 and polish it out. Spray a little brake cleaner on a rag and see if it doesn’t take the haze off then polish it. Mine were really bad and they turned out really good

That will work - or old fashioned Colgate (the white stuff) tooth paste. Rub it with a soft cloth and wipe the glass (plastic?) clean with a few drops of water. It takes time, but sanding or tooth paste will bring it back.

when polishing plastic, if you try to go too fast or push too hard (typically when using power tools) you can end up overheating and causing more damage than you are trying to fix. Just something to keep in mind if you get one of those drill attachment buffing pads or something like that.

Hahaha, you are right about that! Never use wool pad.. harbor freight has a headlight polishing kit with everything you need for around 9 bucks. It has arbor for drill and foam pads and it works really good. I was going to replace all of my gauges but after I did one I was happy with it
