Answers to wiring lights question

The mods to wiring..(a) cut rear light harness swap greens. Now lturns signal without the brake lights operating at same time. Brakes = brakes. (no flash) flash flashes no brake light unless size nines on the stop pedal! they are now independant. and yellow bulbs have been fitted to the backup lamp holders. (white lenses) Fronts. Snip wires on the greens. run them to a "sidelamp" in the headlight assy. now turns flash yellow the other green with tracer flahes the dual yellow in the front yellow lens pack. Chevy lwb crew cabs are A PAIN! everything computer controlled. so you do same mod BUT cut the brake pedal switch wires and run a link from there to the rear brake light assemlies. and the turns are fitted with yellow bulbs in the reversing holders. ALL vehicle have the "rear cab" bed load lights cut and new wires run thro a warning switch on the dash to them as a "motorway rear fog light" Uprated bulb. cut a fuse link in the fuse box and jump two of the sockets there with a new cable. and it's done! this is to meet U.K. M.o.T. regs. before registration. (OH) 'cept the chevies HAVE to have an 1" block stop welded to the rear frame..(above springs) A "design weight certificate" (3500 K.G. GROSS ) printed out on the computer and stuck on the door pillar and front window. THEN we drive to V.O.S.A. they inspect it and give a cert' that designates it as "P.L.G." (private light goods) cheaper test. Cheaper road tax. (instead of heavy goods) as the limit is now 3.5 tons. (3500 kg) it can now ONLY carry (legaly) (following this chaps?) 700 K.G. ! the DIFFERENCE between the U.l. (empty) wieght and the GROSS (laden) weight. phew! simple or what. then one trots of to the local D.V.L.A. who inspect it and the NEW (homemade Declared) design wieght cert (gloat over some paperwork and copy the U.S. dept of defence docs.. and the U.K.customs declaration then allocate an age related Number plate), (tags) register and tax it as "P.L.G." your done! lol Simple!...Humphh!..
