The frame number, commonly used for the VIN, is also on the frame (probably under about 10 layers of paint and invisible to the human eye) between the steering gear box and steering idler arm bracket. This number should match the "Mfr Ser No" block on the glove box data plate.
You'll probably have to do some paint removal to uncover it.
