Does keeping Ignition Key in on position while not runing engine on CUCV's pose problems? Such as GP circuit loading or other potential concerns. Please excuse me if this has been covered before. Did not see a thread on this topic. Look forward to input from those in know. Thanks, DMLII sends....

The TM states not to leave the key in the run position without the engine running. In stock systems when cold doing this will damage the glow plugs. If you have a 12V conversion doing this with a cold engine will cause the glow plugs to cycle which can drain the battery.

In general not a good idea to leave the key in the run position without the engine running.

Is there a specific reason you would want to do this? If you are looking to run a accessory, you can wire it to be hot in the accessory position of the switch. If for flat towing there is an unlocked position where the steering turns but the switch is off.

Have my Stereo off Ignition hot. Had a feeling should not use Stereo without engine running. Because of above stated reasoning. Really appreciate reply's! Will need to pick up current elsewhere so I can listen to music while Beast is not stirring. Thanks again for reassuring my suspicion. DMLII sends...

Rotate your key backwards to the accessory position. Hit the fuse panel with a test light and find switched power. Should fit the bill.

If my memory serves me correctly, my former trucks did turn into that position. My current M1008 does as I just went out to doublecheck it.

Please post if you have a solution as how you can get ACC to work. I am still looking for an alternative.
