injection pump: leaking at base , why?

Hi fellas,

Two step front One step back, this Is what I could Say about my M1008 rebuilt prj .

I've solved starter motor's grinding issue but another issue come up .

During the cranking fase (for bleeding air out of the system ) I've noticed the difficult of starting so I checked under the pickup and It was a diesel puddle.

So I asked my wife to cranking the motor and what I saw was not good.

All the diesel come out from the point where injection pump Is attached to the motor (I attach some photos for help ).


When I rebuilt the Motor I 'had put gasket and tighten bolts correctly.

Have any of you never has this issue?

My idea Is to untighten the injection pump bolts put some RTV gasket on and close .

Do you suggest another type of solution?

Is the injector pump housing cracked maybe ?

Is there any diesel fuel going into your oil pan?

Hi Stonepicker1,

No, I assume there is not craks on injectior house because the engine was running before my reinovation project.
The injection pump was put down and stored in ok Place and then I put up.

In the middle I dont do nothing for cracking

Goodmorning fellas,

Today I've finally got time to put down the injection pump.

Last time when I put up I put It with brand new gasket over old RTV gasket (my fault I was hurry and tired).

I've now cleaned all old RTV gasket.

But looking close tò the pump some dubt assault me:
1) the only place where diesel can come out was from camshaft basement.

2) If i put new gasket and RTV I put them on the basement of the pump, not the basement of the camshaft. It swill still leaking ?
3 where this diesel Will go? On the flywheel and inside the oil motor?

Sorry, maybe this are low level doubt but this Is my First pickup prj.

Update.

After my last post I put on new gasket with RTV .
Close all.
Start cranking, still leaking from the base of the IPP.

I starting assume pump "Is locked", It seems like diesel come from low pressure pump to IPP and then comes out from the basement because the IPP Is locked and do not do his job.

Sound familiar at any of you?
