Intake Manafold Question

I have removed the Intake to fix some leaks. The manafold has two small openings that look to go to the CDR hozes. The new gaskets for the intake have these blocked off. One do I need these and two if needed can I just open the closed gasket?

Are these two openings your are talking about rectangular? And on the new intake manafold gaskets. If so these are for EGR ports on "C" series engines. Leave them blocked.

Yes those are what I am talking about. The gaskets I took off were open in this spot. I will leave them blocked off then.
