On the M35, all are 1-3/8" diameter wheel cylinders. And thanks to silicone DOT 5, most wheel cylinders are easily rebuilt. Only tool needed is a hone.

I've looked into the rebuild kits, NAPA UP-176 appear to be the correct parts. Should take less than 30 seconds of honing to polish them new. Rinse clean with solvent, then dry and reassemble. Wet the CLEAN cylinder with DOT 5, then put back together. Spring, then cups (flat out), then pistons and finally, the boots with push rods installed.

One tip I recently read was to use the adjusters to push the shoes out to the max. You won't need to remove the spring. If just replacing the cylinder, make index marks on the shoes and adjusters to return them to original positions.

Just completed WC overhaul on mkcoen's M35 today. Had low, spongy pedal and poor brakes. Also did bearings. Now the pedal is rock hard, high and the brakes are great! Yes, a bit of work but since I will drive it in the morning, I demand zero defects in brakes. Operation Homefront food drive, the Fill the Deuce Campaign. I'm chief mechanic, driver and loader.
