Chucky that was absolutely amazing. I had toyed around with the idea of what you did, but seeing you actually do it is incredible. Did you worry at all about a torsion mount? The inside looks fantastic and I love how it is almost standard construction methods (2x4 framing, spray foam, etc). Also thanks for the pictures.

Thanks for the flowers .lol And yes i thought about it alot at first and kept going back to all the framework on a 1083 and the as stout as it is i decided to just weld the box from one end to the other solid on both sides and really concentrate on the front 2 corner beams of the box to the airlift cross beam and weld the sheat out of that inside out to where i think you could pick the whole truck off the ground with one of the big caterpillar container handlers .So if it twist much it got to tear alot of welding loose and its not like im going to do rock crawls in the mountains of utah like the jeeps do . These axles have so much travel to them as it is im going to be trying not to turn it over instead of it tweeking a little and its going to be able to go places most vehicle cant go anyway so for getting off the grid i think it will work if it gets rougher than where i want to go its going to be yellow and have tracks on it ! Im fixing to start building a extended tounge 1082 with a dovetail and put a cj-5 jeep on it to run get supplys or chase parts ect. once the truck is set up as base camp and to look around a little easier and cheaper . So theres 100 ways to build these things just build yours for what you need it to do and where its really going to operate and the only one you have to make happy is YOU !!!!! If you need any help just holler and thanks again

I finally got all the tvs mounted in mine today the final thing is mount a mini split back in the garage doors in the rear and a tile backsplash then start on the trailer ! Your build has kept me plugging away and thanks again.

completly street legal, ( although a bit slow in stock form)
I have mine registered as a historic vehicle, pennys to register and insure.
WW2 jeeps- unmodified, parades. Too nice!
1950s M38s great for woods, smaller than a side by side ok on secondary hiways too.
1960s M38A1s better for all around hiway.

Oreon Reeper makes a street legal jeep looking side by side, ( some states)
But the M38 is super light for towing.. my favorite.

yes, either way.
Depends on the state you live in.
(Mine)

“ a vehicle that is registered as a historic vehicle may be driven: To and from exhibitions and educational events without any mileage limitation; To repair facilities within a 100 mile limit; and Up to 1,000 miles per year for personal use.

easy peasy

I dont know how i did it i finally was able to post some pictures by myself lmao ! It looks like my truck took 2 rounds of fire in the drivers door facing 1 50 cal and 1 30 cal the 50 went out the front so the trajectory was like maybe from an aircraft but not thru the door unless it was open cause no holes fixed in the door hopefully the driver wasnt in it at the time !

.
i WAS IMPRESSED with the pic of Stormin Norman. Spotted that right away. In my mind, as crummy as it had been after "our conflict days" (not the guys - the leadership) I do remember feeling a lot of pride when Schschwarzkopf was giving his briefings.

My favorite quote from him in answer to if he thought there was room for forgiveness toward the people who have harbored those who perpetrated the 9/11 attacks on America:

"I believe that forgiving them is God's function.
Our job is simply to arrange the meeting."

I think it was 95 or 96 a friend of mine gave me Norman's Audio Biography {IT DOESNT TAKE A HERO} 4 cassetts back then and literally changed my life the way i thought , conducted myself , at the time its like this is how to be a man your grandfather would have told you speach but not a speach at all ! Everyone should find it and buy it take a listen then pass it on down to younger members of your family . I was lucky enough that one of my friends had a direct line to Norman. My friends grandmother was Normans wifes sister and they talked on the phone every day so he got Norman to autograph the picture to me . And the other picture signed by Carlos Hathcock another good man Norm Chandler ( Iron Brigade Armory } (Death From Afar } marine corp sniping got for me . I thought i better have a BAD ASS Army fella and a BADASS Marine in a crowd like SteelSoldiers to keep the peace .
