I know the "guns" are what makes the GTs an awesome weapon and without them, she is just a truck with a metal box instead of a cargo bed and I understand the pride the Guntruckers have in them...cause I have met several of them...and love em like a brother...BUT:

Proud American has 3 rubber duckie 50's...they look real from a distance...to an untrained eye at least. We took her to a display on Veterans Day a few years ago and when it was over, I didn't feel like taking her back to the compound and getting my pickup so I just drove her home. Didn't even think about the guns.

About 21:00hrs a police officer knocked on my door...I knew him well. He said..."Mr Larry, we've had some calls about that truck and the guns...can you take those guns in the house??"
He even climbed aboard and helped me.

My neighborhood is heavily populated with older Veterans. I honestly think a couple of them called in out of concern for the weapons being unsecured.

Since then...we don't go very far with the rubber duckies mounted...unless we have LEO escort...but that's VERY easy to arrange usually.

Hey Driver, You for got to mention you were in an Uncovered and fully displayed Guntruck up 5 th Ave in NYC. No one had a problem with that either; did they? Both the Untouchable and Satan's Lil Angel have run all over the east coast with our guns on. I do admit that most times, I run between shows and Gatherings with a full tarp on the Untouchable, but that is because I am mostly a one man show and I like to keep things dry and clean upon arrivial. But We definately don't put no red paint on my Guns.

Man---Vin---What a great time that was, gotta get back there and do it again, I can't imagine crewing anywhere not dressed up, hauling its one thing, but if its crewed???? there's only one way, when it rains, oil the guns and put rain gear on, when it quits--wipe off guns, take off rain gear and oil the guns again--------------------Driver

We have a Colo Spgs mil veh collector who cruises around town in a chopped- top Suziki Samurai with live M2 .50s and a M1919A4......unloaded, though.

Cops know him, nobody freaks out.

I've got an airsoft FN MAG58 on my Bombardier Iltis that I only mount for displays and parades.

I have a demilled M60 I mount on my mutt when showing it here in NY. I haven't had any issues so far with it. However I agree with most of the guys here that public perception can have a big effect on our hobby, and so dismount it other than when its in a show or parade...

I never drive mine or transport it with the guns off. I have gotten so used to how awlsome it looks armed. Both (M 1 and Ma Deuce) are now an integral part of if. I do live in the country and everyone knows me. Lat year i took it on a long drive to do a parade with my sons. It was almost an 80 mile round trip. The only LEO encounters I had very waves. thumbs up and having my picture takes. Its not too often some sees a 70 year old truck hith a big black gun mounted on it. That is not to say that there is that lone A-Hole LEO out there that pushes the "brandishing" law one day. I love the looks I get from the kids.
