I like to use 3m electrical tape over the bundle. If you are running wires you might as well run a few extra for down the road. Tape the bundle then loom over and tape over the loom.
Yeah, I usually put a bundle (with extras) in the loom then tape the loom. It doesn't "coil" up as much and easier to get into later if need be.

Be brave run a wire its really not hard. Lots of room under the truck to crawl around. I use a piece of cardboard to sit on. Drain all the air first and chock the wheels just to be safe though.
That was my plan. I was hoping there was a hot wire back there already to save some time and money. I am real familiar with the underside of the truck. Spend lots of time under it troubleshooting the air brake issue.

Installed the camera today. Other than the cold crappy weather it went well. For now I wired it to be on all of the time when the master power is on.

I have a single pole double throw toggle I plan to install in the future to switch between always on and reverse operation.

Where did you guys find a reverse wire in the cab? I found the breaker but its always hot.

I recently tried tracing the reverse light circuit in the TM but had trouble making sense of it as it jumped pages and across connectors. It's grounded to chassis so the switch must be in the positive side.

Grab at the light or 12v trailer harness and run a wire up with your cam wire.

Crap I already ran the wires. I ran a couple of extras but I already have plans for them. I guess I'll leave it always on then. Unless I get the ambition to run another wire.

Just some lazy alternatives from parts you may have already. If you're going to put a laptop up front anyway...... or going to use one of the newer Off-Road (and on Road) apps for navigating anyway with a phone or Tablet.... Sorta makes since.

Got Android? Back up Camera from an old Android and Iphones, ( phone or Tablet ). No Cell or Internet service needed
