I just shipped a new 16' Old Town wooden canoe from Missouri to Georgia this week with freightquote and it was cheaper than my fuel cost and saved me 2 days labor too. I would rather go with a SSer like Gimpy and pay him, but if that doesn't work out, get Rachael's extension number and call her.
Everyone working with freightquote gets assigned an account representative and they can really help. It would be good if people logged on the freightquote.com website and did a practice load to see how easy it is.
The one thing you wont know the first time around is what freight class to assign it. The account rep will give that to you upon a call.
It's easy, but they don't like to drive those big rigs in neighborhoods, so you either have to have a place of business for offloading, or just have it dropped off at the local shipper which is located in the next large town, and go pick it up from there with your pickup or trailer, where they will load you with their forklift.
