For the last few years, I've been renting a shop, napping and working throughout the day in my broken down custom 6x6 bus, and working in the shop at night. I've had to to this because I put everything into building the bus, and the crankshaft broke, so my options were to abandon it all, or rent the vacant shop, build some fancy cars (which sure isn't profitable anymore), help friends with their businesses, and try to get the bus back together at night. I've got bone spurs in my neck and related medical issues that have made daily life pretty painful for the last fifteen years but I fight through it, and barely sleep at night anyway, so napping during the day and working at night works well for me. Well, some busybody reported my shop to the city for residential occupation of a commercial property, and the entire property is a code violation, so the landlord gave me two weeks to move out. I'm typing this to let you know that I don't have a lot of time, and also hoping for some empathy. I need to raise about $1500-2k to get the rest of the parts I need, get it insured, and get it off the property. Everything is located in Cottonwood, AZ and I'm happy to ship but it's expensive. I will add pics to the thread as I have time but please ask if you're interested in anything specific.
LDT Parts: (all serviceable, came off running engine with 3800 miles (but a rough life) and broke the crank when I ran into a big dang rock that stopped it in its tracks)
Complete cylinder heads: $100
Injector lines: $60 for all six
pistons/rods/liners: $120 for all six
set of fresh oil filters with the correct orings: $40
oil filter housing: $20
fuel filter housing: $20
intake manifold: $30
13" pressure plate: $20
side cover: $10
timing cover: $10
timing backing plate: $10
cam (I nicked the threads cutting the nut off but it's usable): $20
timing gears: $20
valve covers: $20 both
thermostat housing with new thermostat installed: $20
rocker arm assemblies: $20
oil pump: $10
starter: $150
LDS oil pickup tubes: $10
flame heater housing with injector: $10
intake tube: $20
harmonic balancer: $10
rear seal housing with new rear main seal(never installed): $40
oil cooler cover: $10
starter spacer (LDS? can't remember): $10
power steering pump access cover: $10
starter solenoid: $10
valve cover crossover manifold/breather: $10
Kit to install a SAE#2 transmission to a multifuel:
LDS flywheel housing, ears cut off, redrilled, helicoiled(on purpose, just like the factory did), and tapped to clock the transmission vertically
LDS flywheel for 15" push clutch, NOS light surface rust, pilot with 25mm ID installed
new 15" clutch with 10 spline 1 3/4" hub
LDS 15" Lipe pressure plate, NOS, light surface rust
$350 or make offer. I really don't want to scrap this stuff. Literally hundreds of hours of work an research. I'll share everything I learned.
Eaton Fuller FS5406 input shaft, 1.5" 10 spline, 25mm pilot, 4th gear, input bearing retainer, and two countershaft gears. Extremely light surface rust spots on some of them but excellent condition and serviceable. Removed from a working low mile transmission so I could convert it to OD. $100 for all of it.
I also have a large robot arm that can lift a thousand pounds and move it in 3 axis, and really cool old single phase 250A AC/DC hf start TIG with a big bottle and leads, needs a control board repair. I'd take a grand for the welding positioner and $500 for the welder and tank.
I also have two sets of axles, one set from a 40ft diesel pusher, and one set from a B60 bus. You can have those for scrap price.
250 gallon diesel transfer tank with a good old school 12v pump: $200
Anyway, if you're interested in anything, please reach out. I hate scrapping potentially useful stuff and it has to go. I love to barter!
Parts I need:
Starter/flywheel/clutch for a Cummins 6BT with an SAE#2 FS series six speed
one deuce front driveshaft
one transfercase to rear driveshaft
a yoke for an SPL90 ujoint
a SPL90 ujoint
PS: A small portion of the proceeds will be used to ship Bill O the adapter ring that we forgot to load up when he picked up the trans. I haven't forgotten, just been absolutely broke!
