low voltage alt.

Hi i work at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. One of out turtle CUCV's had a nice battery terminal fire/short. So i replaced the wire and all the grounds at the battery. I guess the wipers and lights were in op. But they work now. Any way the gen 2 light is kinda on and its only giving off like barely 12volts at the alt. i thought they give off 14? Any ideas, just replace the alt or could it be something else.

make sure all your wires are tight and everything is bolted down and then check the alt again
