M1008 700R tranny?

I am considering replacing my th400 tranny with a 700r tranny that has overdrive, has anyone done this? does it increase the cruising speed of the cucv?

Use the search and you will come up with several.

But to warn you right now, it is not something super easy to do. Finding a tv bracket will be pretty difficult.

I guess I was hoping for a straight answer since all the threads get pretty complex and have tons of options.

If you take a stock civilian 700r transmission and put it into a stock m1008 with no other gear ratio mods, what is the highest long distance speed that would be safe to drive?

with the 700r4 in OD at 70 mph it is like doing 55 mph with the turbo 400. I would say no more than 75 mph constant speed. I have done several of these swaps, if you have any questions post them or just pm me. Friend's truck: conversion from turbo 400/NP208 too a 700r4/NP205 This is one of them.
