M1008 and M1009 hydrobooters the same?

All,

Are M1009 and M1008 hydrobooters and Master Cylinders the same? Can I put a M1008 (pickup) hydro and MC on a M1009 blazer?

NO! there different. you put a m1009 booster on a m1008 and you got weak brakes! you put a m1008 on a m1009 and you will be ejected from the truck. you can not inter change them.
The cylinder size is different in them due to the larger brakes on the pick ups.

The above post is only partially correct. An M1009 master cylinder will be weak for a loaded M1008/M1028 etc. There's (from memory) about a 2600# difference in GVWR between an M1009 and an M1008.

The hydrovac assembly, however, is the same for all CUCVs. The master cylinder for the M1009 is different from the rest of the family. Let me know if you need the part numbers or NSNs.

I think the same hydrovac was used on all the 1 ton trucks, both gas and diesel.

Do you need the hydrovac or the master cylinder? We might have one on the shelf.

I just checked the -20p and it lists one booster assembly for the M1009 and another booster assembly used on all the other Cucv's

The brake parts are all different from M1009's to the rest of the CUCV series.

I just got my head out of my fourth point of contact and looked at the 20P also.

Now I've got to look on the shelf and see which booster I've got. I was counting on it for both types of trucks. Guess I'll be in the market for the other one at Gilbert.

Sorry to "call you out", especially on something so easy to have checked.
