M1008 Axle info

I have a 86 M1008... Can anyone tell me if I have an open diff or a limited slip up front... From what i've read its an open... And also what is the difference b/t the two, and also the pros and cons of them. I unfortunately dont have that much mechanical knowledge. Thanks.

Could anyone tell me, If I want to change the open diff in my m1008 to a trac loc lsd, what other than the differential would i need to change? Also, do i go with the outer or inner spline count when matching one? Thanks in advance for the advise.
