Hi, I am new here and new to the CUCV. What is the best way to start these things in the cold. I have cycled the GP a couple of times and it still just cranks. I am not a fan of using any starting aids. Are there any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Have you checked that all of your glow plugs are functioning? Does your starter spin over fast enough? Does it start up quickly in warmer weather?

Proper starting is covered in the -10TM.

Troubleshooting is covered in the -20TM.

The manuals are free to download, right here in the Technical Manuals section.

I just wait for the light to go out and turn the key. 3-4 seconds later, it's running.
