Any of you guys ever start out with a cucv and move up to a deuce?
Wanting the positives and negatives.

Little Background..I use my 1008 for strictly hungting and occasional trips to lowes. It is a work/hauling truck. It will rarely be off-roaded but does see logging roads quite often. Other than a bobbed deuce being twice the size, anything else to consider. I am more concerned with reliability! My 1008 thus far has been pretty good! I am going with the 37 humvee tires simply to make it interstate capable or a bit safe imo.

thanks in advanced
Also im in WV so im guessing the laws are a bit laxed. Pretty sure with a regular DL i will have no issues and a cdl will not be required.

thanks in advanced

Welcome fellow mountaineer! I have 86 Chevy C30 4x4 , a deuce and 5 ton . I do not see much advantage to a bobbed deuce over a M1008 except for a couple inches of ground clearance, and taller tires, but you give up power steering and good power brakes. The Chevy can find parts anywhere where Deuce parts are not local except for Clark Equipment at Nitro. I would rather change rubber on a M1008 than a Deuce. My vote would be to run what you have and if Deuce Fever attacks ,drive one before you put one in the drive way. Mark
