M1008 with no fuel filter housing

This is my first M1008. It has 34,000+ miles, no major body damage, a few paint scratches and thin rust spots on the hood. All the fluids have been drained and the fuel filter housing was removed from this truck. I took pictures of a truck that had a housing.

Do I need to find the same kind of filter housing or can I use a different housing that uses a spin-on filter? The truck has 3 bolts with no bracket. What are the wire connections for? Do they need to be connected in order for the truck to function properly?

No you don't need the wires hooked up for the truck too work, the two wires on top are for the "water in fuel light", other wire is for the fuel heater. You can find the housings on ebay or go with a spin, I believe part #'s or in the sticky section.
