M1009 1986 front bar documentation

Greetings from Norway!
I suddenly got an issue with my front bar (is that the correct word? If i translate the norwegian word directly to english, it would be "cow catcher"). The norwegian DMV gave me a note that the front bar is not approved for road use. I don't know how the rules are overseas, but here we have the EU rules. As it turns out, the rules say even original front bars must have some form of approvement/documentation i.e. from the manufacturer. Does someone on this forum have documentation for this? Any help would be much appreciated!

Yes in the parts tm it's listed as a stock part.

We have here in Estonia EU laws also but we never had problems with bull bars (in CUCV´s). Maybe you bumped into ultra-eager official worker?

It's the lights you have mounted on it. You probably blind every other driver on the road.

The Norwegian DMV is looking at the truck, as a Civilian truck. So, like WWRD99 said, I would take a copy of the Parts TM into them and give them proof that it came that way.

cucvrus, If the Norwegian DMV is like the German TÜV, it can be a LONG, LONG time before they can make a monumental decision to change their minds. I took my Yamaha Midnight Star down to be TÜV'ed, (Inspected) last week. The only tires I can put on it, are listed on the registration card. And others, are not allowed. I don't mean tire size, I mean tire manufacturer. The tires that are on my registration are no longer made. So I had to get a document from the new tire manufacturer stating that the new tire met the EU & TÜV requirements. That document and 145.00 Euro for the TÜV's time, got me an amendment to my registration. The much feared TÜV is often referred to as the Gestapo.
