M1009 CUCV - Drivetrain Checkup

I've been slowly getting the M1009 back to life. After getting her caught back up on maintenance, and replacing the rotting rubber brake lines, pumping out all the crud, I feel like she's safe to drive.
I had a few minutes waiting around for a burn pile to simmer down. Some underside pictures follow. Anyone see any red flags?

She's got some rust, but most of it is surface.

I dig the dash fan.
It is 22 degrees here, I wish I had need of a dash fan sometimes.
The free state of Texas looks mighty sunny today.

Looks good.
None of the usual leaks are too bad.
Has it's original factory 3R glued in place u-joints in the driveshafts.
Maybe park level, release the brakes, neutral (make sure it won't roll on you), and grab the driveshaft at check for play paying particular attention to the rear u-joint.
The rear output seal on the transfer case is leaking but doesn't look too bad.
The metal parts of the rear brake lines sure look exceptionally rusty but it is hard to tell how bad they really are.

Those are handy for rescuing Fords.

Thanks for the breakdown! I haven't had much experience with older trucks, and figured a rundown from here would be helpful .

She came from the base in San Antonio (Radio Truck). Was used as a farm/hauling truck by a relative for the last decade or two. The family member loves her so I'm "borrowing it for a while"
~50k miles, but lots of sitting the last few years. Trying to do her justice and keep her going. I actually did give the driveshaft a few kicks and didn't see any movement... but didn't have her in neutral. I'll check again.

The old school fan works, but when it is 108F out I *really* miss AC.

The 6.2L actually runs pretty well and starts in reasonable time, power seems a bit weak going over the hills around here though... going to replace the fuel filter.

I do have the original D shackles on the rear, but the front ones are missing. Pretty much all the rubber cab seals are going (door,window,etc)... LMC truck wants way too much for the replacements My long list includes giving her a paint job eventually. Thinking of doing away with the camo and going CARC Olive Drab since it matches the landscape more than the tan CARC.

The only thing I saw that bothered me were the plasticos hanging from the shocks. Cut those things off!

sure. The forum software cuts the image sizes down so much it makes it hard to make stuff out.
