M1009 Fuel Issue

Hello all,

I've been crawling over these forums for a while now, but this is my first time posting.

These past few weeks, I've been dealing with some problems with the old '09. Whenever I go to start it, it surges, then it will either die or go down to normal idle; I'm also experiencing a loss of power when I'm driving down the road. It feels like it isn't getting either fuel or air. I have already changed the air and fuel filters, as well as put fresh diesel in.

My next guess was air in the line, so I searched the forum, and I found this article:
http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?40249-cucv-fuel-filter
In post three, he says that the OP might have a bad fuel pressure switch. Is this a common problem?

I also searched for a way to bleed the fuel filter, but I couldn't find anything. When I look at the filter, I see a rubber hose that runs down the side, but no way to open up any valve to bleed. Is there something im missing?

I appreciate everyone on this forum, you've helped me more than you know with this thing!

Thanks,
Christian

The fuel filter base is bled at the top and drained at the bottom.

If your base is wet, then your sensor may be the cause of a leak.

The TMs explain bleeding and have pictures.
