I've been told the gears are easy to break, and that this happens a lot when the rubber seal that the window fits into gets old and shrinks, keeping the window from easily rolling down, so more force is used trying to get it down and the gears get stripped. So maybe check that out and order new rubber too.

I could use one too. In the mean time, I took the cover off the tailgate, disconnected the window from the arms that hold it up, and ran a few pieces of heavy wire around the top of the tailgate through the little brackets attached to the bottom of the window and twisted together the ends of the wire. This holds it up for now, and if you need it down, just untwist the wires and GENTLY let it down.

It's not very convenient, but it works for now.

Do they have the black ones? Everything is fine except for the crank- the part that hinges is broken. Still cranks fine, but is missing the piece that folds and locks. JW

I know this is an old thread but I didn't want to start a new one. I couldn't find any parts on LMC for the rear window. I need the crank itself with the lock, new glass, and the rubber. Not sure about the internals yet. I probably need to start a list for all the things I'm going to need.....don't tell the wife.

Check out this page and a few pages after this. I covered this rear glass replacement a few times. It can be completed and it will be costly if you require everything. But the rear glass is still available new and I would recommend you just buy new glass. The bottom sash can be salvaged if you have it intact and the other parts will have to be evaluated on a piece by piece basis. The rear window mechanism is an old crude design but can be made reliable and made to last a long time. No spray lubricant's. Just good old grease and oil. Real oil. I cover the rebuild in-depth. If you get in a bind here is a crank. Many are available. They are all about the same. All Imports. https://www.amazon.com/Window-Crank-Replacement-Chevrolet-9703344/dp/B07DNKZGMC
I find many using Google 1984 K5 Blazer rear window crank. LMC has them also. Let me know what you come up short on. Good Luck.
