I bought 4 A1's back in April and 3 came with 2 kinds of rear legs. Finally took the more stable looking one and mounted it on my M101. It will latch in the vertical position for greater stability when the trailer is standing alone.

The other two legs only latch in the stowed position and just hang down when in the vertical position. I guess you depend on the trailer parking brake for stability when using the rear leg for support when unattached from the tow vehicle.

Both kinds are used to prevent the front of a loaded trailer from coming up, neither one would take the place of parking brakes or wheel chocks. IMO Wayne
