I traveled to Ft. Stewart Ga. today to recover my tan M105A2. I already had two others, but one was camo green, the other a VSE refurbished OD green, but they did not match my tan M109A3 camper, and I wanted one to match. I will camo it later.
On the way home, I passed by two state troopers in the median turned in opposite directions, watching traffic both ways. I kept it down to 55 coming home because I didn't want to bother taking the cover off, which is in excellent condition. I checked in the rear view mirror as is usual just to make sure I cleared them without chase. A few minutes later, I have the GSP on my tail, lights blaring away, so I pull over. Buckled up my pants and got out my license. When I got out, I just laughed and said before he could say anything, "I really needed a break anyway". He just smiled.
I didn't have a trailer tag. He said he pulled me over for no seatbelt and was curious about the tag. It's as if he already knew I just purchased it and he was admiring it. He did a full safty check and looked at my chains and hookup. I told him while I was out, I needed to check my magnetic lights as they keep falling off on me. He said the lights worked fine. I got a better pair then those cheapo $10 on sale Harbor Freight magnetics, which, IMO are worthless, even taped down. The stronger magnets are fantastic and they held up well.
Anyway, he was a great guy and gave me a pass on the seat belt. We talked about the trailer and government liquidation and had a nice chat on a nice day. They're not all bad! And I love my .new M105, except for the paint on the tires. Anyone know how to remove it and clean these tires up?
