M1101 blowing fuses in the M1009

Hooked up the new to me M1101 to the 85 M1009 and lost the lights a couple weeks ago. Changed out the fuses and checked the grounds for the truck per directions found here. Also went ahead and traded out the switch before I realized it was just a fuse. Using the military connector between truck and trailer. M1009 changed to 12 volt by prior owner. Swapped bulbs to 12v LED in M1101 trailer and plugged it back into the M1009. Popped fuses again. Had trailer stored elsewhere short time and now have it at the shop so I can investigate further, but, not sure what to check and thought I would check here to see if anyone has already solved this dilemma.

Thanks for suggestions.

Have you used the trailer plug with other trailers? Just guessing but it sounds to me like you have a bare wire on the trailer somewhere.

Good idea! Have not plugged in any other trailers to the M1009, but, will try the M105 this weekend and see if it blows fuses again. Planning on chasing the wires on the trailer anyway to tie in another adapter for civilian vehicle use.
