M1101 Cargo Top Bows/top metal pieces

I just finished repainting my M1101, and now I need to reassemble it. I can't find a diagram anywhere that shows the cargo cover bow parts, specifically the screws/bolts required to hold the solid metal chunks (3) that go between the bows. (Mine had simple pointed machine screws in them, they were badly rusted and more then half were missing. So I suspect not actually what belonged there.)

Does anyone have a pointer to what screws SHOULD have been connecting those metal pieces to the bows, or should I just go to the hardware store and experiment?

If it doesn't look like the image above, then it might be an end user modification, in which case find whatever bolt fits and has a smooth head on it and go from there.
