Need help. Any advice on parts for the drivers side landing gear? I need the major bolt - thread style rod that raises and lowers the leg.

I would look in any truck or equipment junk yard, the landing leg is about the same for most of them just different lengths

The M172's landing gear is a special mil-spec design, it is round and a civilian square landing leg will not bolt right on. My experience has been that parts for M172's are nearly impossible to find on the loose. You might try having the part fabricated by disassembling the other side and having a machinist copy the missing/broken parts.
