:cookoo: February 28th, 2008.

I got a new 2-1/2 or 5 ton Hand throttle cable from Saturn Surplus to replas one some twit cannibalized in service from my 1971 Kaiser Jeep M-35A2 Wo/W "Saddam's Nightmare" , as the ghost of it was in the dashboard paint. I routed it down through the hole above the throttle linkage for the accellerator pedal, and hooked it up to the top ear of the accellerator where the return spring connects by the injector pump, and, GUESS WHAT- No movement due to there being a missing bracket off the frame, engine or that area of the truck's fenders!!!
NO GHOSTS of a bracket, But I KNOW, that there has to be some way to restrain the lower end of the hand throttle cable sheath from moving. SOOOOOO.... What's missing, where do I find it, and where do you attach it???
ANY GOOD DRAWINGS OR PHOTOS OF WHERE THE HAND THROTTLE ATTACHES TO THE ACCELLERATOR LINKAGES?????? I don't have an M-35 in the area to interrogate tha has this set up, otherwise I would. Any information would be greatly appreciated, as the paper copies of my GS and DS manuals on the truck, and the spare parts books haven't arrived yet, and the -10 is of no use in this matter.

Thanks Again,
Sincerely,

Kyle F. McGrogan

No pics, no diagrams and no bracket. Cable is clamped in that hollow nut that goes through the firewall and thats it! The end attaches to the ear on the linkage!

M35A2 Hand Throttle Lower Linkage

NO HOLLOW NUT- Throttle Cable did not come with one, Any Idea as to where I can dig one up, or does Saturn Surplus list one??? I guess it would be a hollow compression type set up, from what you are saying?

Thanks again,

Sincerely,

RE: M35A2 Hand Throttle Lower Linkage

February 29th, 2009.

Thanks Gentlemen:

My maintenance and parts manuals arrived yesterday from the gentleman down in Coconut Creek,FL
(Gotta love those 10,20's, 34P's et al from 2006 (BRAND NEW!!!-Woo Hoo!!!!)), the part numbers are as follows for those of you that may need them, as Mr. Kivett at White Owl's fishing for me:

TM9-2320-209-34P: 2006 issue: Figure 22 Throttle linkage

Item (dwg No.) ,Item Code, NSN, FSCM, Description, Qty.

15, PAOZZ, 2910-00753-9184, 7539184, 19207, Connector Throttle, AB,AC 1 Ea.

16, PAOZZ, 5305-00-889-3002, MS35206-242, Screw, Machine AB, AC, 1ea (item 15,26 are the throttle stop clamp unit)

17, PAOZZ, 5306-00-737-3263, 7373263, 19207, Bolt, Internally Relived Body, AB,AC 1 Ea.

18, PAOZZ, 5310-00-959-1488, MS51922-21, 96906, Nut, Self Locking, AB,AC 1 Ea. (these two are the in firewall compression nut that holds the hand throttle cable from moving.

With what you see there, ANYONE, even me, can get a hand throttle to work on an M35A2. [thumbzup]
