Guys I got my new master cylinder and airpack, both are installed. but 2 questions
1 the new master cylinder has a 1/8 inch plug on top of the cap ( do I need to vet that? remove the plug and run a vent line? my old one just had a plastic cap and no vent
2 the brake line from the master cylinder to the air pack the line kept leaking at the brass fitting on the air pack - my question is does anyone know where to get the replacment brass fitting? is it a universal fitting and found at napa? I like spare parts , It kept leaking so I changed the metal line and it stopped it but the old line looked fine so I dont know why it was leaking, Id just like to have a spare brass fitting to keep on the shelf. Thanks for the help

I bought the brake line fittings from here: http://www.fedhillusa.com/

Also added a remote reservoir which has a tube connecting to that 1/8 npt on top of the cap.

OEM should be a fitting on top of the cap that connects to the fuel line vent. This runs to a tee somewhere around under the trans or transfer case that eventually ties in by the slobber tube. I would think it needs to be vented.

Originally, there was a vent tube connected to the MC cap. An MWO was issued at some stage to disconnect that tube and replace it with a breather "mushroom" similar to the axle breathers. My truck had this MWO performed when I got it. The vent line is still there, just dangling disconnected.

You are best advised to use a remote brake reservoir, mounted somewhere higher up than the MC, that ties into that connection, with a vented plastic cap on that remote reservoir.

As for the leaking line, try using emery cloth to polish the seating surface of the line; there could be a gauge or scratch that makes it leak. Works for the injector lines, too. Then tighten the fitting "with feeling". Ape-tight can deform the surfaces to the point where further tightening makes them leak even more.

It has been a while I purposely looked at that fitting. Isn't it just a regular ol' brake line fitting for the inverted flares (SAE 45 degree double flare)?
