m35a2 winch manual?

I have recently aquired a winch for my m35a2 and would like to get familiar with it's components and operation before I hurt myself, someone else or my truck. Could someone tell me the publication number of the manual that will cover the winch. Thanks.

I remeber David Doyle mentioning a manual for the winch a while back but I don't remember the number. I know at the time I looked for it and couldn't find it anywhere. There is a parts breakdown in the TM 9-2320-209-20P and that's all I've been able to find.

TM9-8617 is the paper manual and is pretty rare and expensive. For operation you need to refer to the operators manual. TM 9-2320-361-10 is the one I keep in the trucks. The older TM 9-8022 is nice to have if you stumble over one.

Kenny, I forgot to mention the -10 for operation when I said the -20P was all I could find . The operation of the winch is the most important reading you can do. The winch can kill and do alot of property damage in the hands of someone that doesn't know what they are doing.

Maybe someone that has a copy of the TM 9-8617 will add it to the site.

When you use the winch for the first time, have a buddy or two with you to help, and inform them on its operation before you start, it will make life easier. I just learned this today. Tried to pull a stump out of a friends yard, winch now makes lots of noise now, and the stump is still there. I failed...
