I had a little problem with my M37B1. (I blew up the engine). While removing the engine we noticed that the block was marked with the number 52 cast right in the left side of the block. When going over the replacement engine we notice that the block had 65 cast into the block. Is this the date the block was cast? Also the fellow I bought the new engine from pointed out the the block was marked "245A" on a pad on the left side of the block. He believes the "A" identifies the block as a B! block. Does anyone know if this is true"

Yes the A is a B1 thing, changes to the orig. design in 1957 resulted in the M37B1 and the T245A designation for deliveries starting in 1958.
