Rule of thumb if gap is not known, is 90 degrees to center electrode. Of course proper gap is best, but if in a pinch, just make it square..it will work untill you can find proper gap. or forever..which ever comes first
I got it close, just trying to figure out why it keeps fouling #4, its also running rich, I've messed with the idle mixture and seem to get the same thing, so I may have to see if I have a stuck float/ needle & seat.
Is it only fouling #4? i would suspect oil foiling vs fuel fouling. The needle and seat may be stuck, but usually if they are it would flood terriably and foul more than one plug. i would dissasemble carb and clean everything for the running rich problem. Of course in any issue should check compression etc, first, otherwise might be chasing your tail. Make sure engine is sound first. Then tune up. Just an idea..Good luck
I pulled all the plugs last night all have a lot of carbon on them & are not a tan color like they should be. Looks like I'm going to get a carb kit & go through it!
