Has anyone used an M67 immersion heater to preheat WMO before running it through a centrifuge? I'm starting to collect all the goodies to set up a cleaning station and ran across a guy using one on WVO. However I have reservations about using flame around that much oil.

I sell them, and have sold several to folks using them for that. I think if I was going to I would rig some sort of heat exchanger- heck you could drop one inside a 35 gallon drum of water, and drop that inside the larger drum of oil. As long as you keep the flame down enough that the water does not boil you should be fine.

Thye are good cheap sources of heat, and will burn damm near anything once you get them going.

I searched and did not see it covered... Has any been able to run one of these heaters on WMO or a blend of WMO and diesel? I am interested in one of these units and think it would be fun to play around with.

Those who successfully recycle any waste oil into diesel fuel generally blend gasoline with the waste oil at 20-30%, then leave it to settle for at least a week, then separate the sediments from the waste oil, before centrifuging and filtering. Thus, no heat is needed.
