Ok...so the A2 was getting very tough to start where the days before it fired right up. Traced it to the fuel solenoid that was going (gone) bad and i pulled the bad part off to replace it. With the solenoid off it starts up perfect like before and i can stop it with the kill cable ( just like on my deuce).

Why do they have the fuel solenoid on this engine if you can over ride it like this ?? Seems to be a useless part or am i missing a larger issue some where ?

I have had the same thought. The solenoid gets hot when it stays open to allow fuel flow which puts more load on electrical system. My guess is its there for quick starts. Should somebody shut the truck off with the cable-and they need a quick get away, forgetting to push fuel back on my cost a life.
When my solenoid goes, I will simply go with the cable for fuel on/off.
