M927? Vin question.

I recently (well my boss) purchased a 5 ton truck from an auction site, Id plates have been removed so they couldn't supply a title for this truck, according to the nsn number on it that they gave us it is a xlwb, 5 ton gi 6x6, m927, That is all the info i have other than a dtid number, but I'm needing to get a title for it, does anyone know where to look that the vin may also be so I can get a title for it? Dash plate is completely gone. Thanks!

Start looking above the driver's front forward spring hanger. VIN will start with C527-XXXXX. Insist on a SF-97.

Try on the frame rail drivers side front just behind the steering box cover.
