M998 kill switch

Hi everyone. Owner of a M998 wants to install a kill switch. He has grandkids running around and doesn't want them to be able to start it when no one is around.
On the ignition switch I have found if I unplug the top wire is shuts everything down. Switch is dead. Could I place a ON/OFF switch in line on that wire? If so do I need a certain amp switch to handle the draw in that circuit? Thanks for the help.

Why not put a battery disconnect in the battery box under the seat?

Put it on the crossover wire between the two banks and it'll serve two purposes, keep the kids from trying to start it and keep the batteries from draining.
