This pack is from one of the original, 1st group of USMC M998 HMMWV's to be released. There was zero wrong with this set up, the only reason it was swapped was the owner wanted a 6.5 and the L480 trans. This is a complete power pack with the exception of the alternator. Shortly before the swap, the 60A alt took a dump and a new 100A, single voltage unit was put in it's place, however, the alternator is still around, collecting dust.
This comes with the front and rear drive shafts, the front and rear diff yokes, PS pump, starter, fan and fan hub, belts, heater valve, cross member, a second unknown condition t-case, the complete body harness.
Again, this was taken out of a running, driving original M998. The picture of the gauge cluster is of the mileage when the swap happened. It has been sitting, covered, all of the openings, oil, fuel, air, trans, have been covered/plugged at the time of the swap.
If any of you remember the Dirt Bag events, this truck was there, drove up, did the trail drives and, again, if you were there, you most likely played with the toy on the top!
The plan for this was to put this set up into a rolling early chassis at the Museum, but that isn't gonna come to fruition. So, instead of it just sitting there, I have decided to make it go away and help someone else and not donate it. It has been sitting for about 5 years.
The t-case is in unknown condition, but the tag says it has a MWO but I have no clue what it is.
The pack, as seen in the pics, everything included, $2500.00. With the alt, $3000.
The engine turns freely. Fuel drips out of the return when turned.
