New Guy here,
I'm going to buy a M1031 Contact truck. I've been searching the web for info. Does anyone know why some of the bodies have the front compartment taller than others? Most of them I see have the front compartment short enough that you can see the fuel tank. I have seen a couple that cover the fuel tank. I'm thinking that the taller front compartment could be for the welding body and perhaps for oxygen acetylene bottle?

By reading the rules, I don't think i'm violating them by saying, the truck i'm questioning is on the big Government Auction website, if you want to see what i'm talking about.

The "taller" boxes are transplants from the older M887 Dodge trucks.
