Master cylinder and hydro boost help

I'm replacing my master cylinder and hydroboost in my 1986 m1009 I ordered a stock 86 k5 blazer master cylinder and hydroboost I haven't got the hydro boost yet but I got the master cylinder and it does fit the old hydroboost or look like the old master cylinder at all I've heard that you should order k30 parts but I've heard the civilian k5 blazer parts work too did I order the wrong part or did I get the wrong part. Also I'm redoing the whole brake system will stock k5 rotors pad drums and shoes work or do I need k30 parts cause I thought the k5 and the m1009 had the same 10 bolt axles

In general, the CUCVs all use parts from the '84 model year. So even if your truck was built in '86, it uses the '84 parts. There have been some exceptions to this though. I would check and see if the parts houses list different parts between the model years, and that might explain the difference.

You could also look in the -20p or -34p TM and get the GM part numbers for the parts in question, and then have the parts house cross-reference them.

I would also post such questions in the CUCV portion of the forum, as you may get more views, and thus more answers to your questions.

As cpf stated, order the parts for an 84, no matter what your your CUCV is. This has been gone over many times on the site

The CUCVs where built to the 1984 design specs. They did not receive all the upgrades over the years.

The axles and hydroboost are different on the M1009 and the other CUCVs.

Why not look up the GM part number from the Technical manuals, cross-reference them against the parts houses.
