Maximum cable length

What is the maximum length that the winches on M35a2's will take. Took the old one off our's and was only 140' but got another cable for free that I found in a pile and it's almost 175. I'd hate to start reeling cable on, only to find that I'd need to take all back off and shorten. Let me know if you know, please. Thanks

The original cable should be 200' long.

Yep,Per military Specifications 200 feet of 1/2" cable.You can fit more on there if properly spooled but they went with 200 foot so it would fit on there if it was just reeled up and over lapped hap-Hazzardly.
