Good work! I know swapping the CVT assy is not fun, but you got through and persistence has paid off for you! Glad I was able to help a fellow Green Machine owner.....

I don't actually have a way to run it for any length at full load.
A 240 volt electric stove provides a good load for testing a generator. You can sometimes find them cheap on Craigs List. You want the older coil type so you can cheaply repair an eye if it is burned out. However, they do take up some real estate. Mine is outside with a tarp over it when not in use.

Hello, Anyone left on this site? Been a long time since anyone posted. I have a MEP003 issue similar to what’s going on here (I have read much). I was hoping someone had experienced whats described below & recognize the exact scenario. I see a lot of info on what to test, I virtually have zero electrical ability but still try. I’m a great welder and an enthusiastic parts changer; I love to kill roaches, spiders & weeds.

My MEP003 Quit making power, I would run the engine to exercise, One time I noticed it was making power when I went to turn it off. It continued making power here & there over a couple weeks then ran my house for 23 hrs, The next day, no power.

I found the original Bridge rectifier had the resistor burned in half. I purchased a new one & it made power for a few seconds (or a minute???) & stopped while I had my back turned. The next day, I cranked & watched it make power a few seconds then it quit & a little smoke came out of the box where new resistor had gotten hot. I have not tried it a 3rd time.

I would greatly appreciate any tip or other parts I could buy to fix what’s wrong. Thank you, Terry

Terry,

Please start your own thread. Very few people will look at this old thread, as it has several hundred posts. You get better exposure if you start your own thread. If you need help, tell me.

Yes sir, after posting I found a different Thread describing the exact scenario I described. “Rectifier Board Burn Up”. I will investigate what is laid out & see if that works for me. I read all “MEP003 threads Not making power” & nothing I saw was related to my scenario. Additionally, I saw your name quite a bit trying to assist so thanks for your kindness in that regard, much appreciated.
