Selling a 1983 MEP-005 30kw Military Diesel Generator with ASK Noise Kit. 768 Hours. Possible 1988 or 1993 rebuild.
This is an incomplete generator and will need parts installed/replaced in order to run.
I purchased this generator around 6 years ago and it did run and produce power. I can’t recall specifically, but either the overspeed switch or the low fuel sensor in the day tank was bad. I kept this as a spare when I was still using a 005 as a primary power source and used it for parts for other generators.
I will list the parts below that I know either will need to installed or replaced.
Assorted fuel lines, throttle cable, alternator, frequency transducer for frequency gauge, frequency gauge (transducer and gauge can be easily swapped to a newer civilian style for much cheaper than original parts), start/run/stop switch, some panel lights, overspeed switch, fuel filters, air filter, electric fuel pumps, water thermostat ( I do have the mount block for it), fuel gauge, drain fuel.
I do have the tires and lug nuts for the m200A1 trailer and will be installed at sale. The generator is not affixed to the trailer, so if you want the combo you must bring straps to secure it to the trailer. No title for trailer.
The weight of the generator is 4200 pounds and the weight of the trailer is 2400 pounds.
Price for generator $1450, Price for trailer $700, Price for trailer + generator $1900
Yes I have a forklift to load this on your trailer (can lift whole assembly or individually)
Prices are pretty firm as the remaining parts on the generator along with the scrap weight value after those parts are removed is higher than my asking price.
