Help. I have a MEP 005a generator with a tripped dc circuit breaker. I have new batteries. We have checked the alternator output and it is generating up to 26 volts at the battery terminals. The unit ran and produced power previously. Now it runs for a few seconds and trips the dc breaker. It has a current draw from between 3.5 and 14 amps which fluctuates up and down prior to shutting down.
Any thoughts.
I could use some advanced help with troubleshooting.
