I want to change from old style 2 pin positive/negative slave plug to newer style round slave plug, positive center pin and negative outer ring. The old style was negative isolated at the plug from the chassis. With the newer style plug it wont be since the negative section is part of the mounting base. My question is will it hurt the generator if the slave plug grounds to the chassis? I dont want to fry a regulator or anything like that. Cant find anything close to my question when doing a search. Wire diagram on generator cover doesnt show it clearly if it would hurt anything or not
