I would like to confirm my thinking on the ip pump timing. How many revolutions does the pump turn as compared to the flywheel ?

I installed the ip pump but am getting fuel in the intake and hard starting/ not wanting to run. Should I put the flywheel on the pc mark, pull the pump and spin it one revolution and reinstall?

The injection pump turns one turn for every two turns of a flywheel

When you put everything together did you bleed the pipes out?

If you didn't leave the fittings going to the injectors loose turn the pumps on and crank it when they get wet with fuel tighten them up

Everything is tight. I pulled injectors out and flipped upside down. Turned motor over until they sprayed and reinstalled. As far as I can tell everything is correct unless I missed something

Make sure the throttle is going full fuel (arm all the way up, it gets stuck sometimes)

With the injectors installed loosen the fuel fitting at the injectors and crank it make sure you get fuel to the loose fittings. Tighten them attempt a start.

If you pulled the IP with the groove locked with a drill bit and installed it the same way and no one turned the motor you should be in time

Yes I pinned the ip but cleaned it out with carb cleaner without taking it apart. I took the pin out to spin the gear and free everything up. And pinned again to reinstall. Pump works as it should.

There is another very good thread going on this very subject. Have you used the pin to set #1 on the pump?

I used the pin yes. I am going to time the engine again and take out the ip pump and turn it one revolution as mentioned

I would turn the engine to make sure the valves are closed on #1 cylinder and verify that with the PC mark on the flywheel. Check the pump with the pin, if it goes in you are already set on the correct timing. Pin does not go in and then you know you have to take it it and rotate it. Why just go to all the trouble to remove, rotate and reinstall unless you know it is out?

Do yourself a favor and while at the pc mark, mark the blower, that way you know it's approximate location and find it faster
